How ranking works

Players are ranked by 5 criteria in order of priority (shown below). If two players are tied, the next criterion decides who ranks higher.

Average points remaining when you finished. Higher means you used fewer clues

Longest run of days in a row you won at least one game in the past 7 days

Average number of clue tiles that turned green on a wrong guess per game

Guess the mystery country using as few clues as possible. A 3x3 grid of tiles each hides a different clue about the country.
You start with 5 guesses and 10 points. You lose points in two ways:
1. Flipping a tile to reveal a clue. Each tile shows dots indicating its cost. The more dots, the more points it costs to flip.
2. A wrong guess automatically flips any tiles that match your guessed country, costing 1 pt if any new tiles are revealed.
The round ends when you name the country correctly or run out of guesses. The more points you have left, the better your score!

After a wrong guess, the game compares your country to the mystery country on every hidden tile. There are two ways a tile can flip:
1. Exact match: both countries share the exact same value on that clue.
2. One shared value: some clues contain a full list behind the scenes. The tile shows one example using e.g., Similar to: or ≈ but the full list is used for matching. If even one value from the full list is shared, the tile flips.
Some tiles use more than one method. If any of them match, the tile flips.
Matching tiles cost 1 pt total regardless of how many flip. If no new tiles flip, no points are lost.

Winning
The round ends and the answer is revealed when you guess correctly or use all your guesses. The more points you have left when you win, the higher your score.
Player Stats
Every round you play is saved to your personal stats, whether you win or lose. You can view your win rate, average points spent, and average guesses used at any time.
Leaderboard
You need to complete at least 3 games to appear on the leaderboard. It ranks players by their average performance across all games played in the past 7 days. The less points you spend and the fewer guesses you use, the higher you rank.
